Everything you need to know about Toolsy

Toolsy is a peer-to-peer marketplace for renting professional tools and equipment. It connects equipment owners with contractors and individuals who need them, for short or long-term rentals.

Find the equipment you need on the platform, contact the owner, confirm the dates and price, then pay securely online via Stripe. Pick up the equipment at the agreed location and return it at the end of the rental.

Toolsy offers hundreds of professional pieces of equipment: jack hammers, excavators, boom lifts, generators, compressors, forklifts, scaffolding, welding equipment, pumps, heating and ventilation systems, and much more.

Toolsy does not provide insurance. For standard tools and equipment, each renter must have liability insurance covering the use of the rented equipment. For larger machines (boom lifts, excavators, industrial compressors, etc.), the owner-lessor is responsible for ensuring their insurance policy explicitly allows rental to third parties.

All payments are processed securely via Stripe, one of the most widely used and secure payment solutions in the world. Your banking details are never stored on our servers.

Create an owner account on the Toolsy platform, publish your equipment with photos and a description, set your daily rate and availability. You will start receiving rental requests quickly.

Registration on Toolsy is free. A commission on transactions is only charged when a rental is completed. Contact us for more details on our pricing.

Toolsy is present in many cities and regions across North America. Equipment availability depends on owners present near you. Log in to the platform to see available equipment in your area.

In case of damage, report it immediately through the app. Coverage depends on each party's own insurance. A security deposit may be required by the owner at the time of booking.

You can reach us by email at contact@toolsy.ca or via the contact form on our website. Our team will get back to you as soon as possible.
